Community Sponsorships

Capella and District Show Society

Recently, the Capella and District Show Society joined the growing list of local community groups to receive financial and volunteer support from The Capricornian, as gold sponsors of the 2022 Capella Show.

Our Capricornian staff were proudly tasked with the Show Pet Competition Judging, hosting a clydesdale, border collie, jack russell, guinea pig and a pet rock as part of the event.

The Capricornian donated prizes for winners, including a sports bag, a money box (for their pocket money), a drink bottle and other fun items. A great time was had by all.

Rockhampton Symphony Orchestra

As a gold sponsor of the Rockhampton Symphony Orchestra, The Capricornian was recognised at their most recent performance – Symphony of Space – at the Pilbeam Theatre in June.

At that event, the CEO was given the opportunity to address the audience and also announced The Capricornian’s increasing sponsorship commitment for the FY 2021-22 to Platinum Sponsor.

The Rockhampton Symphony Orchestra has been in operation for over 3 years and the Capricornian has been supporting the Orchestra, for this entire time.

2022 Rockhampton Agricultural Show

The 2022 Rockhampton Agricultural Show took place in June and did not disappoint, with over 30,000 visitors walking through the gates.

The Capricornian secured two Sponsorship opportunities, supporting the Show Volunteers for a second year in a row, as well as the Community Stage.

As the only locally owned financial institution in CQ, The Capricornian naturally jumped at the chance to sponsor the Community Stage. This allowed us to host an array of performances and workshops for the kids for the duration of the Show.

Pinefest

Shauna and her team in our Yeppoon Branch proudly supported the Yeppoon Lion’s Tropical Pinefest, sponsoring the Beachfront Entertainment – providing hours of fun for Capricorn Coast locals to enjoy during the day. While we didn’t have a float in the Grand Street Parade, the team handed out chilled water to keep the locals hydrated and zinc sticks for the kiddies to slip, slop, slap.

It’s amazing to be involved in an event that sees the community come alive to support such a great event for their region.

St. Brendan’s Ladies Night

The Capricornian’s Yeppoon staff enjoy nothing more than stepping out of the branch to attend community events. Even better if the community event includes a ladies night and a date with Australian swimming star Brooke Hanson.

Special Guest for the evening was inspirational Australian Olympian swimming medallist, businesswoman and mother, Brooke Hanson. The St Brendan’s College Foundation is a not-for-profit company that exists to support the development of St Brendan’s College and its students and the ‘Ladies Night’ is just one of the fundraising initiatives held by the Foundation.

Miriam Vale Rodeo

The Capricornian has been a long-term supporter of this event. As well as providing monetary sponsorship of the open Barrel Race – this year a small group of staff made the trip to Miriam Vale/Agnes Water to attend the event on the long weekend.

This annual event sees competitors of all ages and local families starting from juniors to seniors and the Rodeo Circuit. There is wood chopping, face painting, raffles, horse sports as well as arena entertainment, drawing over 1000 spectators to the Miriam Vale community for the weekend.
