Staff Volunteer Program

Giving back is at the heart of what we do. We encourage our team to give back by volunteering their time to a number of community not-for-profit organisations in the regions that we live and work in.

If you’re a not-for-profit organisation or community group looking for volunteers, this could be an excellent opportunity for us to work together!

Staff volunteering initiatives

Supporting Our Community This Christmas

This December, The Capricornian Bank family proudly supported the Anglicare CQ Adopt-a-Family Appeal, contributing food, gifts and time to help bring a little extra joy to families across Central Queensland during the Christmas period.

Through the appeal, our team was able to support families within the Rockhampton community by helping to pack and distribute Christmas hampers filled with essential items and festive treats.

Members of our team, Ella, Nicole and Jael, generously volunteered their time to assist Di and the Anglicare CQ team, helping prepare hampers that would go on to support local families doing it tough. At The Capricornian Bank, community is at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to support initiatives like the Anglicare CQ Adopt-a-Family Appeal that make a meaningful difference, especially at a time of year when connection and kindness matter most.

Celebrating Community Spirit at Pinefest 2025

The Capricornian team was thrilled to once again take part in the Pinefest Parade on Saturday, 11 October 2025, proudly rolling down James Street, Yeppoon with our colourful float.

Presented each year by the Yeppoon Lions, Pinefest is a cherished celebration that brings the community together for a weekend of fun, creativity, and connection. Having participated for several years now, it’s one of our favourite opportunities to celebrate the vibrant Capricorn Coast community we’re proud to be part of.

A big thank you to everyone who waved, cheered, and joined in the festivities — we can’t wait to do it all again next year!

Coming Together to Support People in Need

The Capricornian team was proud to support the Eddie’s Van initiative, donating non-perishable items to help meet the immediate food needs of the Capricorn Coast community during these challenging times.

We were also fortunate to witness students from St Brendan’s College, Yeppoon, and St Ursula’s College, Yeppoon, come together to serve hearty meals, share kindness, and spark friendly conversation, an inspiring display of community spirit.

It’s been truly heart-warming to contribute to such a meaningful cause. Thank you, @Eddie’s Van, for supporting our community for more than 14 years!

You can find these incredible volunteers in action every Thursday at the St Vincent de Paul car park on John Street, Yeppoon.

Together, we’re making a real impact — one meal at a time.

Heart Foundation Christmas Wrap

The Capricornian Bank staff were once again excited to volunteer their time in support of the Heart Foundation Christmas Wrap, helping raise vital funds for heart health research and education.

Each year, the Christmas Wrap provides a simple yet meaningful way for the community to give back during the festive season. By volunteering to wrap gifts, our team helped turn Christmas shopping into an opportunity to support a cause that makes a real difference to the lives of Australians.

Our staff were proud to assist the Heart Foundation by donating their time, lending a helping hand and sharing a few festive smiles along the way. It’s always rewarding to see how small acts of volunteering can contribute to a much larger impact.

At The Capricornian Bank, community support extends beyond financial services. Volunteering is an important part of how we give back, and we’re proud to support initiatives like the Heart Foundation Christmas Wrap that help strengthen the health and wellbeing of our communities.
