Dale Grounds, Chief Executive Officer of The Capricornian, has an important message to share with the Emerald community, following the announcement that two separate financial institutions will be closing their branches in town.

Dale understands that some people prefer to use a branch and as a result of this announcement they may be looking to change financial service providers. “We want the Emerald community to know that they can continue to bank with a locally owned financial institution such as The Capricornian, they don’t have to go to one of the major banks. Our Emerald branch has supported the local community for over 20 years” he said.

The Capricornian offers a community owned banking alternative, providing many of the same services, products and technology as the big banks with one important difference, it is owned by its members. “We have a strong member focus and are committed to maintaining a unique in-branch experience for our valued members in Emerald,” said Dale.

Emerald Branch Manager, Delwyn Tyrrell can help you with all your banking needs

Emerald Branch Manager, Delwyn Tyrrell, knows that it’s not just banking that brings people in to the branch. “Our members come in because they want to talk to people. They love telling us about their families, life events and what’s happening in the community,” she said.

Capricornian members can enjoy the personal service that comes with dealing with local staff that are based right here in Central Queensland. It’s likely to be the same person working with you to open a transaction account or to apply for a home loan. Loan applications are approved and funded locally and if there’s ever any problems, the local staff members are on hand to fix things quickly.

Delwyn said she personally loves hearing about the good things happening in member’s lives and knowing that in some instances, The Capricornian has played a part in it. “Because we’re local and know our community, we like to think we can make your banking better so why don’t you come join us,” she said.
