Christmas a time for giving for Capricornian staff

For most of us Christmas is a time of joy, love, gifts and quality time with family. But there are many families in our community who are experiencing financial hardship or difficulty.

Every year the Adopt-A-Family for Christmas appeal brightens the lives of local families facing adversity at Christmas time.

In the spirit of Christmas, the staff at The Capricornian are always happy to help, and as a community minded financial institution have been supporting the Adopt-A-Family Appeal since its inception.  This year was no different, with The Capricornian adopting 5 families to brighten their lives and share the spirit of the season.

The Capricornian also made a financial donation and staff volunteered their time to assist with the annual Heart Foundation Rockhampton Christmas Wrap.  Now in its 21st year, the Christmas gift wrapping stall in the Stockland Rockhampton Shopping Centre is one of the major annual fundraising activities in Queensland, raising around $18,000.

Heart disease is the single biggest killer of Australians and the Heart Foundation works to reduce heart disease and its impacts through research, prevention strategies and encouraging people to make healthy choices.

A big thank you goes out to all staff, friends & families for donating gifts, items or their time to Adopt-A-Family and Heart Foundation Christmas Wrap.
